
So what is WEEE and what does it stand for?
WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
This practically includes mostly any equipment which includes a battery or a plug. The WEEE legislation is divided into six main categories.
These categories are as follows:
- Temperature exchange equipment such as air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators.
- Equipment containing screens such as laptops, monitors and televisions.
- Equipment for light generation such as LED Lamps and non LED lamps.
- Large equipment with external dimensions of 50 cm or more such as cookers, washing machines and clothing dryers.
- Small equipment with external dimensions of 50 cm or less such as toasters, cameras and vacuum cleaners.
- Small telecommunication and information technology equipment such as printers, mobile phones and routers.
